about cards

How fast are you?
Very. We usually have proofs out within 24 business hours and we usually ship no more than 2 business days after you approve your proof. Read some of our client comments.

That said, we guarantee proofs in 2 business days (after photos are received) and shipment in no more than 3 business days after proofs are approved.

Custom wedding orders will take longer depending on the complexity.

Can I see a sample before I order?
We have put together a sample pack of all of our products for only $5.99. This gives you a feel for our work and the vibe of Mango Ink! Click here for more information.

What type of paper do you print on?
We offer non-traditional photo cards; those printed on REAL photographic paper in a matte finish AND we professionally hand MOUNT every product onto heavy card stock. We do not use home ink jet printers. We print using a professional printer with first-rate quality.

What type of paper do you mount on?
We LOVE paper, therefore, the utmost care has been given to select the most beautiful paper to compliment each design. Our standard panel cards are mounted on 5x7 white cardstock with a subtle raised border that frames each design. This is heavy 100lb cardstock. Our square cards use Envelopments® paper products. We carry our favorite colors and products from Envelopments®. These colors include: Amethyst, Cocoa, Classic White, Ash, Coal, Aquamarine, Lavelite, Tourmaline and Caspian. We can inter-change any of these papers with any design. If you want an entirely different color than we carry, we do special orders as well. Look at envelopments.com to view all there is to incorporate with our designs.

What are design changes?
We are happy to include ordinary design changes with any order. That means anything in regards to colors, photo layouts, or backgrounds we'll be happy to change. We love it when clients use our templates just the way they are but if you don't see one you love, just let us know how we can change one you do see to fit your needs.

Can I get extra envelopes?
Orders include 1 additional envelope for every 16 cards ordered. (Square cards will not have extra envelopes - so be careful.) :) Want to buy more envelopes? No problem. Email heidi@mangoink.com and we will add them to your order.

Do I need extra postage for any of your products?
For standard panel cards there is no additional postage.

For square cards, the USPS requires an additional $.17 postage for square envelopes.

What is envelopments®?
A company that offers a wide array of paper products that we think are pretty great. You can read all about them at their site.

What is the crystal clear envelope and how do I use it?
It is a self-sealing plastic bag that shows off the beautiful contents inside. Self-stick stamps need to be used vs. gummed, as the gummed stamps will not adhere to the plastic. Due to post office requirements the stamps need to be placed on the outside of the bag, (not inside) so that the post office can cancel the stamps. You can put all addresses and return address labels on the inside of the clear envelope.

What is an envelopement®?
It opens completly to reveal the contents inside. They are a unique way to send cards for any occasion. They can be used as self mailers or go into an outer envelope. We mount the design with cardstock to be permanantly attached. The color will make your card really pop! We also highly recommend ordering our circular return address label/seal to close all four corners.

Can I order an envelopment® for the standard panel cards?
Yes, email heidi@mangoink.com for a quote. It may take a bit of extra time, but we love coordinating papers with our designs. Also, to ease the process, we can send some samples of paper colors you have in mind.

What if I'm not happy with your final product?
After you have approved the digital proof and we have begun printing we offer a 75% refund. If cards have been shipped to you we will need the cards returned (we will also pay for shipping). Up to that point, you can quit the ordering process at any time (as nothing has been charged to your card).

If you need a reprint after the digital proof has been approved and the reason for the reprint was clearly visible on the proof (wrong phone number or wrong photo choice, etc...) we charge a 50% fee plus you will have to pay for shipping. Envelopes will not be sent with the reprint.

Will my cards fade?
Our photo cards are not ink-jet or dye sublimation and WILL NOT FADE. We use Fuji Crystal Archive paper for all our photofinshing.

Why don't you offer the "unmounted" version of photo cards?
We simply offer the high end product. We love the mounted cards. We only sell what we would buy and we do this with the best price possible for you. They are beautiful and look like a framed picture. The photo cards that you usually see are flimsy and lack the quality we strive for. This product will not fade and require no additional finishing.

Do you put your logo anywhere on the card?
Each of our cards are stamped on the back with a small "mangoink.com".

 

about photos

How do I send you photos?
After you place your order, simply email us the pictures at photos@mangoink.com. That email address will be all over the checkout pages when you order as well (just so you don't forget it.) Please include your order number in the subject line when you send photos. In special cases, we do accept original photographs via regular mail. Let us know if you need us to do that.

My photo isn't in digital format - is there a way I can get it to you anyway?
You can find a scanner and scan it in at 300dpi or send us a note and we'll arrange for you to send us an original. We'll return the original with your order.

What kind of photographs do I send?
As big and original as you have. We can often work with smaller images but the bigger the image (usually, the way your camera takes it) the better.

Please note that if you are planning on printing posters or using a template where the photo takes up much of the card, we can't use a thumbnail image.

By submitting photographs, you are agreeing that you own valid copyrights for the photos and that you are, or have received permission, from those pictured in the photographs. If the photo is of a minor, you are agreeing that you are, or have received permission, from that minor's legal guardians.

Also, purchasing prints of a photo, CD, or DVD from a professional photographer or studio does not transfer the copyright of the photo to you, and the photo cannot be reproduced without a release. You can be personally responsible for copyright infrigment even if you did not intend to break the law. We love to work with photographers, so if you are uncertain, have them call or email us.

I can't decide which photos to use. Can I send you a bunch and let you decide?
Yes, you can. We do, however, ask that if you are going to send us photos and let us decide, that you let us decide. It usually makes our job easier if you try your best to choose the photos you love. If you love all of them, we will have fun!

Can I use professional images for my cards?
We can accept professional images for creating your order. However, we MUST receive written permission from the photographer .The photographer can fax us this information directly at (509)467-2209. Please inform the photographer, that an emailed copyright release will not be sufficient.

Keep in mind that the unauthorized use of professional images is illegal. Really. It is.

Can you/will you crop and/or adjust my photograph?
Yes, our designers will make sure that the photo looks good within the design. And if they think it looks good and you don't, you can always tell our designers that they are wrong.

I see a Holiday Card design I like but I need a Thank You note?
As always, our templates are not the end of the story. Pick a background from a holiday card, a font from a thank you, and turn it into a Birthday Invitation. Whatever you want to do, whatever combinations you'd like us to try, we're willing..

Will I see the design before you print it?
Absolutely! We never print a card until you have seen a digital version and approved that proof. That also means that you have checked for spelling, dates, etc...We've made one mistake since we've been in business and we did send that person free cards - but we may not next time so make sure and check. : )

How many proofs will you do?
We will do four proofs for free. After that we charge $1.99 for every additional proof. In the years that we have been doing this, there have been a fairly small percentage of people who have asked for over four proofs and an even smaller percentage who have actually needed that many. We suggest you combine your suggestions into one email. Study the card and collect your changes rather than sending multiple emails with single changes for proofs.

We also do not do multiple design templates so that you can pick one and then begin to modify that. We can only work on the template that you have ordered. If you would like to see your photo on another template, other than the one your ordered, we will do that for a $4.99 charge.

Will the proof look identical to the real version?
Yes. There may be some color differences as monitors vary in the way they display color but we print exactly what you approve.

What does it mean that Mango Ink is a designer/dealer for Envelopments®?
That means that you can order any product that Envelopments® has to offer from us. We can create a special and unique product for any occasion using any of the products you fall in love with! You do not have to use any of our designs, we can simply order and ship any product that they have to offer. Contact heidi@mangoink.com for pricing. about ordering

How do I order?
Find the design you like and press the order button. You'll then have a chance to tell us how many you want and where to send them to as well as your personal information. You can also tell us any design changes you would like on your card.

What is personal information?
Personal information is dates, names, sayings, or anything else that should obviously be personalized for your order.

When am I charged?
You will not be charged anything until your item goes to print and that won't happen until you have approved a proof and we start printing!

Will I be able to change the order (quantity,style) after I place the order?
You can always change quanties, etc... until we actually go to print. If you'd like more, we're happy to add more but once we print, we can't take away from the order without a 25% restocking fee. If you add, we'll try to combine the two and not make you pay shipping twice.

Do you have a minimum order?
We do require a minimum order of 2 sets. Our sets of cards and thank you's are sold in sets of 8. While we have raised the minimum order from 1 set, we still think we're lower than many of our competitors who require minimum orders of 25.

I don't like ordering online. Can I call you?
You bet. Give us a call at 509.995.0035 or send us an email with your number and we'll call you.

The shopping cart says something about cookies?
Make sure cookies are enabled on your web browser. For most browsers this involves nothing more than going to your browser preferences and "enabling cookies". Here's a good resource if you're not sure if you should enable cookies.

Is it safe to give you my credit card?
We think it is. All of the "store" portion of our site is run by Yahoo! Store which means that they keep your credit card information and they store it much more securely than we ever could. If you're still not sure, there is lots of legal stuff you can read below, including Yahoo!'s terms of service. If you're really nervous you can call and give us your credit card over the phone.

On a side note, we strongly suggest that you do not email us your credit card information. That is not an especially secure way and we highly discourage it.

How long will it take for me to get my cards?
Officially, we will email a proof to the email address you provide no later than 2 business days after we receive your photos. Once we have received approval of your proof, your order will be sent no later than 3 business days later. In all, that means your order will be sent out (via whatever shipping method you choose) 5 business days after you have sent us your photos. Again, that's the official line - we are usually much faster, depending on the season.

Unofficially, you'll see a proof in 24 business hours and your cards will ship two business days after you have approved.
