victoria + jake / black rock / coeur d’alene, idaho
A timeless palette of midnight blue, silver, and white set the tone for Victoria + Jake’s refined and romantic celebration. Every piece — from their letterpress invitation suite to their elegant day-of details — reflected their classic and effortless style.
Vibe: refined, polished, classic
There’s a calm confidence about Victoria + Jake that made designing for them such a joy. Their style is elegant and timeless — rooted in tradition, but with a modern sophistication that feels effortlessly polished.
We carried that balance into their suite. The letterpress and foil printing combined texture and shine, giving their invitation a refined depth that mirrors their style. A debossed monogram and hand-mixed midnight blue ink brought a subtle romance to the crisp white Savoy cotton. Every detail — from the silver pocket folder to the custom wax seal — reflected a sense of understated luxury.
The day-of details tied everything together beautifully. Coordinating menus, program fans, napkins, hotel key cards, and a seating chart carried their midnight blue and silver palette throughout the celebration. Each piece felt like part of the same story — thoughtful, classic, and deeply personal.
We absolutely loved working with Victoria + Jake and are so honored to have played a small role in a day that was as beautiful and graceful as their love.

ashley + hunter / davenport / spokane, washington
A refined and romantic celebration — Ashley + Hunter’s classic letterpress suite and elegant day-of signage came together to create a weekend full of timeless beauty and warmth.
Vibe: elegant, romantic, luxurious
There’s a certain kind of romance that feels effortlessly elegant — and that’s exactly what Ashley + Hunter’s day embodied. From the full Catholic mass to their reception in the Marie Antoinette room, every moment felt intentional, classic, and deeply full of love.
We carried that same feeling through their stationery design — a refined letterpress suite on bright white cotton paper, pressed in hand-mixed deep teal ink. Blush envelopes, a rose trifold enclosure with custom die-cut details, and a hand-dyed silk ribbon tied everything together in understated luxury. It was formal yet warm, classic yet modern — the perfect reflection of a Friday evening celebration that felt like a scene from a timeless film.
Their day-of pieces echoed that same polished elegance. Each piece tied seamlessly back to their invitation suite, and the result was a beautifully unified aesthetic — refined, romantic, and sophisticated from start to finish.
We loved working with Ashley + Hunter — from the first impression of their invitation to the final toast under golden light. Their wedding is one of those that reminds us why we love what we do: timeless design, intentional details, and the kind of love that feels both classic and new.

kate + danny / davenport / spokane, washington
Kate + Danny’s wedding was a timeless celebration of modern romance, blending soft details, black-and-white design, and effortless elegance.
Vibe: modern grace, thoughtful detail
There’s something effortlessly timeless about Kate + Danny — a warmth and calm that translated beautifully into their design. Their wedding was all about simple elegance: clean lines, classic tones, and details that felt intentional but never overdone.
For their invitation suite, we paired Savoy cotton paper with rich black letterpress ink, creating a soft-yet-striking contrast that set the tone for their day. Subtle layers — a vellum wrap, champagne wax seal, and crisp white-on-black envelope printing — brought texture and depth without ever losing that quiet sophistication.
Every piece carried the same feeling: romantic, graceful, and deeply personal. Their signage and day-of details echoed the same story — polished but heartfelt, timeless yet modern.
It was such a joy to create for a couple whose kindness radiates in everything they do.

stephanie + andrew / jm cellars / woodinville, washington
Soft, romantic, and effortlessly elegant — Stephanie + Andrew’s day was the definition of timeless love. Their simple and modern suite set the tone for a celebration full of heart and grace.
Vibe: timeless, Warm, Effortless
There’s a quiet kind of love that feels like home — and that’s exactly what Stephanie + Andrew’s day embodied. Their wedding was the perfect reflection of simple elegance, wrapped in soft neutrals, warm light, and effortless romance.
For their stationery, we designed a suite that mirrored the tone of their celebration: refined, graceful, and timeless. Their main invitation, a double-thick card printed digitally, brought a luxurious weight and feel. The enclosure card complemented it beautifully, keeping the details clear and understated. To tie it all together, we added a vellum wrap — blank and perfectly translucent — for a hint of modern minimalism.
From the soft floral arrangements to the natural tones woven throughout their décor, everything spoke to the purity of their love. Their signage echoed the same softness, with gentle curves and clean typography creating a seamless flow from invitation to reception.
Every piece felt intentional — nothing overstated, everything deeply felt. It was an honor to help bring Stephanie + Andrew’s vision to life, and we’re endlessly inspired by their warmth and authenticity.

what love looks like (cosmopolitan article)
cosmopolitan asked us to share what love looks like after decades together — which still feels wild to say. we’re no experts, just two people who met at red robin one summer and somehow built a life full of wonder, chaos, and laughter. from spontaneous adventures to quiet nights cooking at home, here’s our full list of answers about what it really means to grow (and stay) in love.
Cosmopolitan asked us to participate in their Valentine’s article “What Decades of Love Really Looks Like, According to the Couples Who’ve Done It”
which is wild on multiple levels: how have we been together this long, and we’re no experts. (we’re at the very bottom... best for last?) :)
they sent us some tough questions. a few made it into the article, but here’s the full list for anyone who might want to read them all.
where and how you met
ryan was home (spokane, wa) from his freshman year at the university of washington for the summer and went back to work at red robin (where he had worked before heading to school). heidi had started working there while he was at school, and ryan was surprised to see the new girl. turns out they lived about three miles apart, and ryan followed her into work one day. heidi remembers ryan coming up and asking her if there was anything fun to do in spokane, which is funny because he had lived there for four years. first date was the firm, and things went from there.
your favorite memory of your time together
that time we sat across from each other at clinkerdagger restaurant the night before our firstborn son was due and realized we would be parents forever. that time we took the canoe through the thorofare at priest lake and pulled off into the trees to have a quickie. that time we danced at the rainbow room in nyc and snuck off into the ladies’ restroom to make out. that time we went to new zealand on our first overseas trip for two weeks, just us two, and magically explored and felt like kids. that time we sold everything we owned and moved to seattle. that time we made clams from pike place market and drank so much wine as we celebrated our 30-year anniversary in our new apartment as the sun set over the puget sound. there’s a million. maybe that’s why we’re still happy together.
something that drives you crazy about them (in the best way)
from heidi: when he comes home from work and needs to do all the dishes before we cook dinner. when he must listen to all the “new music friday” songs on spotify before he can start his friday. when he forces me to slow down and see the world around me. the way he just knows we’ll be okay always (somehow having an abundance of resources when we really have so little now).
from ryan: she’s got this almost arrogant, bold thing that comes up from time to time. it’s just like, “what? this is what i’m doing. i don’t care.” after getting over my initial wtf, i’m enamored with how badass it is.
thoughts on valentine’s day, decades in
every day should be valentine’s day. honestly, this year heidi is going on a girls’ trip, and a few years ago ryan was in vegas at a clothing show… and it didn’t really matter because all of those things we’re supposed to be doing on valentine’s day, we’re just trying to live. so it’s a great day to do something cute, but it’s far more romantic to live it all the time.
the best gift your partner has ever given you
from heidi: this magical, adventurous life. not taking everything so seriously. looking for wonder and awe in all things. our three incredible kids. being my best friend and lover. abundant respect.
from ryan: besides her beautiful body still rocking all these years later… her willingness to go. she’ll jump in the ocean and get her hair wet, go on the hike, fly economy to new zealand, carry her backpack through ten subways and two miles to get to our hotel, go to a concert of a band we barely know, walk through the city, and look stupid in a new country while we try to figure it out. also, she reads. thank god. she reads books.
a small thing they do that makes you feel loved
from heidi: trying to take as much off my plate as possible. looking for ways to lighten my load and also help me get the best sleep.
from ryan: i’ll have some thought, and she just acts like it’s the greatest thing she’s ever heard. and she’ll also tell me when it isn’t. both make me feel heard and seen and loved in different ways.
thoughts on going to bed angry
from heidi: don’t do it. there is so much value in expressing things that bother you, communicating, and being honest. the more you bury, the bigger it gets. and then sometimes that little thing you didn’t express comes out with a tiny frustration and blows up bigger than the original thing.
from ryan: this is one of those things i’ve definitely learned from heidi. don’t let it fester. i was not nearly as good as her at just getting stuff out, and i would let it simmer under the surface for days while claiming everything was good. don’t do that. i’m okay with waiting until morning to let the raw emotion subside, but two nights? not anymore.
when to compromise and when to stand your ground
listen. listen. listen. respect. humility. wonder. ask. listen some more. anyone who does those things will always know when to compromise and when to stand their ground. it takes work to know, but that’s the work that always pays off. it rarely pays off to just jump into either compromise or standing your ground without that work.
what they look like in your head when you picture them
from ryan: that’s such a good question, and a weird one, but it really got me thinking. honestly, i picture her as she is. just glowing and smiling. as she’s always been.
from heidi: like this cute boy i met. still. with his hat on backward, acting mildly rebellious and having a strong mind. so, so cute to this day and honestly still the same in all those ways.
one way they’ve inspired you to be better
from heidi: so many ways. ryan is that friend you want to dream with and go on vacation with. he’s the one full of wonder and awe and soaking up every last drop. he helps me have eyes to see the tiny beauties, the noticing.
from ryan: one of our very first fights was heidi wanting to drive through a mcdonald’s to ask for water without buying anything. i couldn’t believe it. the audacity. but i’ve learned so much about “advocating for yourself,” as heidi always tells the kids. and me. it’s been nice to become a little more bold, and a little less embarrassed, about stupid stuff. age helps, but heidi helps more.
the moment you realized you found the one
it’s a bit ridiculous. we were 19 years old, but we said after two weeks that we loved each other and were talking about getting married. it was so fast. we knew it was too fast, and we said we couldn’t tell anyone that we were thinking that way.
your favorite thing to do together
heidi: travel and cook together.
ryan: i do love being in a rocking creative headspace with her too.
one thing young people don’t realize about making relationships last
it’s not exhausting or all this hard work, ball and chain, blah blah. it’s evolving, listening, respecting, and having fun. we can only talk about our relationship, but we’ve never been big fans of finding someone and making it work, as much as finding someone with whom it just does work.
set your expectations high, and find someone who meets them.
and there’s probably some luck involved. be okay with that.
tldr: you gotta be that person. we read years ago that being a good parent isn’t about doing the right thing or saying the right thing, it’s about being. kids see through all the shit. so do partners. no formulas, no magic lists. be who you want to be and find someone else doing the same.
your advice for young couples who want to make sure their relationship stands the test of time
heidi: be with your best friend, the one you want to spend time with, the one who thinks they got the better deal in the relationship. esther perel said we’ll all be married three times, and you’re lucky if it’s to the same person. the one who wants you to be better and expects to be married three times to the same person, in other words, who embraces change rather than fears it. we all evolve and change, and you want that partner to be the one cheering you on.
ryan: best friend. amen. the one who never attempts to make you hide. the one who always encourages you to unleash the beast inside.
the best way to settle an argument
it feels like 55% of arguments are misunderstandings. most of the time it feels like we’re arguing about something we didn’t even mean to be arguing about. get to those fast and try to figure out what the disagreement actually is.
the other 35% feel like one of us wanting to control something we can’t. the argument is more about who is going to let go of control first, but that’s usually easier to find consensus on.
then there’s that last 10%, the ones rooted in the core things we’ve been arguing about since we met. the ones that are still our little kid versions of ourselves throwing fits about our inadequacies or shame spirals or unmet needs.
for those, see a therapist. everyone needs one from time to time. they help a lot.
fill in the blank
love is 75% effortless and 25% work.
lauryn + thatcher / islandwood / bainbridge island, washington
A Wes Anderson-inspired celebration full of whimsy, vintage charm, and color. Lauryn + Thatcher’s day-of signage and stationery captured the quirky romance that made their day so unforgettable.

There’s something so effortlessly charming about Lauryn + Thatcher. Their wedding day felt like stepping into a Wes Anderson film—every detail brimming with personality, color, and just the right amount of whimsy.

wipa gala / edmonds waterfront / seattle, wa
Inspired by fall textures and Scandinavian simplicity, our stationery for the WIPA Seattle Gala celebrated community, abundance, and modern coastal elegance — all wrapped in luxe, double-thick natural cardstock.
Vibe: clean, modern, textured, luxe
There’s something special about designing for a community that celebrates creativity as much as connection. The WIPA Seattle Gala brought together the best of both — a night of color, celebration, and the kind of togetherness that defines the Pacific Northwest wedding industry.
For this event, we wanted the stationery to feel clean, modern, and intentional, while still echoing the warmth of fall. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design and textured seasonal tones, we created double-thick natural cardstock menus that felt elevated to the touch — luxe yet understated. The minimalist typography paired with soft, layered color gave the suite a sense of calm sophistication and timeless appeal.
The circular elements throughout the design represented abundance and community, two themes that carried through the night as industry peers gathered to celebrate, connect, and create together. The two-color printing allowed for subtle contrast and dimension, letting each piece stand on its own while remaining cohesive within the event design.
With the venue right on the beach and the ferry dock in direct sight, the entire evening carried that serene PNW magic — clean lines, gentle movement, and a perfect balance between structure and softness. It just couldn’t have been more beautiful.
We’re always honored to collaborate with such talented creatives and contribute to moments that bring our industry together — and this gala was a stunning reflection of community, artistry, and modern elegance.

jess + tyler / the barn at rimrock / clayton, wa
Jess + Tyler’s bright August wedding was bursting with life, laughter, and personality — complete with a dog cameo, surprise first look, T-shirt toss, and a dance floor that never stopped.
Vibe: bright, joyful, golden summer
If sunshine could be bottled, it would look a lot like Jess + Tyler’s wedding day. Bright, full of life, and overflowing with energy, their August celebration was a joyful reflection of who they are — fun-loving, easygoing, and deeply connected.
From the start of the day, you could feel the excitement. Their adorable dog made an appearance (and stole more than a few hearts), their first look was full of surprises and laughter, and every moment felt genuine and full of life. As the day went on, guests were treated to unexpected delights — a T-shirt toss, late-night popcorn, and a dance floor that never slowed down.
We designed their day-of signage and details to complement that same spirit: bright and modern with a clean, effortless feel. The tones of summer — soft neutrals, warm light, and subtle pops of orange — tied everything together beautifully.
Jess + Tyler’s wedding was the perfect reminder that love isn’t just romantic — it’s joyful, playful, and meant to be celebrated. These two brought their full hearts (and dance moves!) to the day, and we’re so honored to have been part of it.

ellie + pablo / epiphany / seattle, wa
Ellie + Pablo’s wedding was a gentle reminder that true love doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. Their day radiated warmth and sincerity, from the soft neutral palette to the heartfelt signage and floral details. Every element reflected who they are — kind, grounded, and beautifully in love.
Vibe: soft, timeless, romantic
There is something naturally beautiful about Ellie and Pablo. Their Seattle wedding felt warm, sincere, and thoughtfully considered from beginning to end, with a quiet sense of intention guiding every part of the day.
This was one of those celebrations where every detail carried meaning. Their wedding thoughtfully blended Jewish and Christian traditions, with personal nods to Pablo’s Honduran heritage woven throughout the day. Hosted on a family property that has welcomed generations of weddings, the setting added a deep layer of history and sentiment to the experience. From the ceremony to the transformation of the property for dinner and dancing, it was clear how much care, collaboration, and love went into bringing the day to life.
For their wedding, we focused on the day-of design that helped guide guests through the celebration with clarity and grace. We created a cohesive suite of pieces including elegant menus, carefully organized seating charts, refined table numbers, and directional signage that worked together as a unified visual language. Designed in soft tones with clean lines and simple typography, the stationery complemented the natural beauty of the setting rather than competing with it.
The overall experience felt grounded in connection. Family and friends gathered closely, moments unfolded naturally, and every choice felt purposeful. The day-of stationery played a quiet but meaningful role, supporting the flow of the day and helping guests feel welcomed, informed, and immersed in Ellie and Pablo’s celebration.

Vibe: timeless joy, modern grace
There’s a classic kind of joy that radiates from Justine + David — the kind that fills a room and makes everyone feel part of something truly special. From our first conversation, it was clear that their wedding would be rooted in warmth, tradition, and a quiet kind of sophistication.
We wanted their paper pieces to reflect that same balance of timeless grace and modern simplicity. Clean lines, understated fonts, and subtle textures came together to create an aesthetic that felt as effortless as their love.
On their wedding day, the feeling was pure magic — the grandeur of the church paired with Justine’s elegant gown and David’s sharp, classic style created a moment that was both cinematic and deeply personal. Every detail, from the floral arrangements to the signage, echoed the theme of simple elegance elevated by heartfelt joy.
We adored bringing their vision to life and are endlessly grateful to have played a small part in such a meaningful celebration. Here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and moments that feel just as radiant as the ones that filled their wedding day.

Lake Lucerne Wedding at Bürgenstock Resort
Vibe: MODERN, ROMANTIC, ARTISTIC, LUXURIOUS, DREAMLIKE
Set high above Lake Lucerne at the iconic Bürgenstock Resort, Xiaoyang Li and Yucheng Tang’s wedding felt like stepping into a modern fairytale. The Bürgenstock Resort sits along the cliffs with sweeping views of the Swiss Alps and the shimmering lake, creating a luxurious and dreamlike setting that holds its own kind of magic. It was the perfect place for a celebration that felt intimate, romantic, and deeply artistic.
The couple chose a palette of soft neutrals and rich berry tones, letting the natural beauty of the Bürgenstock Resort become part of the design. Sculptural florals framed the floor-to-ceiling windows, and gilded mirrors caught the light in the most beautiful way, reflecting both the blooms and the mountains beyond. Everything felt ethereal and intentional.

emily + matthew / Golf Club at Black Rock, coeur d’alene, idaho
VIBE: modern, classic, elegant, formal, simple + clean
Emily and Matt were so excited to have a destination wedding in Idaho, their favorite summer vacation spot. They knew they wanted to let the mountains and the beautiful greenery steal the show, so they kept their wedding black and white and let nature provide the accent colors. We do think the wedding—and the gorgeous bride and groom—outshone Idaho on their wedding day, but how could they not?! This black and white wedding suite, with embossed and debossed details and a standout vertical vellum bellyband, delivered important information to their guests in a way that felt simple, elegant, and totally luxurious.
They used their gorgeous monogram to brand everything throughout the weekend, from welcome bags to tissues to playing cards—we had so much fun with these! And we’re sure the guests appreciated having something to mop up those ceremony tears during such a heartfelt celebration. Keeping things easy and classy, guests found their seats via an oversized seating chart, and drink and meal options were displayed through signage throughout the gorgeous celebration.

VIBE: classic Gatsby, black-tie, bright + springy art deco
These two Gonzaga-grad-lovebirds wanted a classic wedding that celebrated their loved ones as much as their own union. Their day was bright, springy, and full of joy—perfectly matched to their ceremony at St. Aloysius Church and reception at the iconic Davenport Hotel. Their custom wedding invitations featured timeless letterpress on soft white, setting the tone for a cohesive day-of look. Cream and gold carried into their signage design, where coordinating welcome signs, table numbers, and a refined seating chart helped guests flow effortlessly through the celebration.
One of our favorite details? A bespoke guestbook featuring a custom illustration of the church where they said “I do.” A keepsake they’ll treasure for years to come. This elegant, joyful wedding had all the signage—plus one of our favorite custom bar signs ever. Everything came together beautifully: elevated, personal, and timeless. And honestly? caroline + gareth / Yellowhawk Resort, walla walla, wa
VIBE: Walla Walla, windmills, wheat fields + mountains
Caroline and Gareth ooze kindness, sophistication, and a wholesome love—and we enjoyed every part of working with them. They wanted custom illustrations and luxurious paper to help tell their love story, especially their love of the Walla Walla landscape. That landscape inspired everything about this suite, from the bespoke windmill drawings to the sky blue and wheat color scheme. This suite is a testament to the fact that simple does not mean boring. The beautiful letterpressed main invite is complemented by a sky blue, minimalist details card, tied together with a vellum wrap featuring a sweeping windmill landscape.
One of our favorite details is the simple, modern wheat motif on the back of the envelope—a nod to the beauty of the wheat fields where they were about to be married. They carried these details into their day-of signage, from a minimalist welcome sign to an easy-to-read seating chart that helped guests feel right at home. Their programs, menus, and table numbers all paired perfectly with the whimsical, romantic sweet pea table flowers. When you see these photos, you can feel the peace of their love radiating from every frame. We wish them all the love in the world.

jenny + matt / liberty lake, washington
Vibe: soft outdoors, dreamy, romantic and a little magical
When people give the advice “marry your best friend,” Matt and Jenny are the couple they have in mind. They are joyful, earnest and so in love (did you see the secret J+M on the tree? Obsessed!). We wanted their wedding invitation suite and day of signage to reflect all those things and capture the soft, romantic, outdoorsy vibe they were going for. We created custom illustrations, used natural paper, and brought in dusty pink to create a cohesive wedding suite. Jenny also lost her father and wanted him represented in all elements—from the invites to the day of signage. So when you see that little cluster of stars that pops up on their invite as well as their welcome sign, that’s a symbol of her dad. Like them, the day was bright and beautiful, and everything came together just right.

stephanie + griffin / Coeur d'Alene, idaho
Vibe: simple, timeless, coastal/Nantucket, grand millennial
When you get to start your life together in a place that is both breathtaking and deeply meaningful to both of you, we say do it! Coeur D’Alene Lake is that place for Stephanie and Griffin—it’s where they got engaged and spent countless days exploring and hiking together. So it makes sense that the lake takes center stage along with them. You’ll see it in the gorgeous letterpress wedding invites, custom party cups, and bespoke wedding signage throughout their big day. The blues are perfect for a timeless lake vibe, and the florals hit the grand millennial vibe Stephanie was drawn to. We love the way it all turned out and wish them the best of luck in their lives together.
