megan + tyler / Gozzer Ranch, coeur d’alene, idaho

Vibe: personal, simple, elegant, captures the beauty of CDA

Everything about Megan and Tyler’s vision for their wedding was personal. The huckleberries on their fully custom wedding invites evoke their love of the outdoors. Their map features bespoke illustrations of their home, their wedding venue, and where they got engaged—all centered around Coeur d’Alene Lake. And we cannot forget their true loves, dogs Riesling and Remington. They popped up on the wedding bar signs, the invites, and even with custom dog cufflinks! There are so many creative ways to make your dogs part of your wedding day, even if they can’t be there. We are so happy we had the chance to be part of their wedding celebration by creating personal and unique wedding invites and day of signage. And you can tell by the pictures that Megan and Tyler brought the FUN to the day!

allie + michael / Mackinac Island, Michigan

Vibe: clean, minimal, natural, garden formal

Allie + Michael’s wedding took place at Mackinac Island, a special little island in Michigan where there are no cars and everyone gets around the island by horse-drawn carriage or bike. Which is a dream. Aaaand it’s also a lot of information to communicate to their guests on their invite and wedding itinerary. We worked to get all of the information across, while still keeping the natural and special vibe of the wedding intact. They wanted the wedding invite design to be clean and modern with lots of small special touches like handmade paper and custom illustrations. These unique touches carried through to their day of items with custom bar signage and wedding weekend itineraries for the guests when they arrived. Every detail was planned out and done so beautifully, setting Allie + Michael up for a lovely life together.

heidi’s highlights | the art of noticing

the art of noticing

heidi’s highlights | april 20, 2025

i stopped on my morning jog this week

to sit on the rock by the water

and i noticed two birds i’d never seen before

swimming so playfully

it almost felt like a gift

they weren’t concerned with the headlines, the uncertainty, or the heaviness so many of us are carrying

and for a moment

i was jealous

and then i was free

noticing can feel like that

like a tiny, stolen breath of peace in a world that forgets to pause

i’ve been working on staying present lately

it’s a full-time job

i started a morning ritual—just ten minutes of journaling

first it’s stream-of-thought

then five things i’m grateful for

six things i’m manifesting

and one daily mantra

this week’s mantra is: “it’s so easy to stay in the moment”

and what a crazy thought

it’s what all the spiritual teachers say

i suppose they’re on to something

sometimes i feel like i could be crushed by all the things on my plate

but holding onto stress doesn’t help me create

doesn’t help me show up for the people i love

doesn’t help me feel more grounded

so i’m practicing

noticing as an act of resistance

slowing down

letting go

trusting that the next right step will still be there when i’m ready

as ryan always says, one airplane at a time

he picked it up from his love of airplanes and his friends who work in air traffic control

because when there are thousands of planes in the sky, all you can really do is focus on the next one in line

try to handle them all at once, and the stress will crush you

but one at a time? you’ve got this

what i missed before i slowed down

one of the biggest things i’ve noticed is how different my work feels when i’m not rushing through it

i used to rush through printing

just get the job done

keep it moving

check the box

now

i wait for the soft clunk of the press

like a heartbeat

steady, grounding, real

in a world that wants more, faster, louder

i’m choosing to look closely

to care more

to feel it all

the things you never see

i don’t post the part where the ink turns muddy

or the die cut doesn’t go all the way through

or we don’t realize the color is off until it’s too late

this week i printed 115 dusty blue invitations

except

they weren’t dusty blue

some leftover black ink from the previous job hadn’t fully cleaned off the press

and it snuck in

turning everything gray

so i started over

remixed the ink

cut new parent sheets

re-registered the plate

and reprinted them all

and they’re perfect now

but the imperfection

the mess

the behind-the-scenes problem-solving

is what matters to me most

those are the moments that shape the work

the beauty

and me

a gentle reminder

this is your reminder to notice the ordinary magic

the way the light peers through that crack in your shades

the sounds of nature doing its thing while the world wakes up

the moment you exhale and remember—you don’t have to do it all at once

holding onto stress doesn’t actually get things done better or faster

what a shocker, right?

you can stay relaxed and in the moment

worry about one airplane at a time

and skip the constant drip of cortisol running the show

try it

i promise the world will keep spinning

give yourself a little more space today

a little more grace

you’re already doing enough

this story first appeared in heidi’s highlights

rambi + jack / san juan island, wa

Vibe: playful, adventurous, San Juan summer

Rambi and Jack are adventurers, and they wanted everything about their wedding to give a nod to that. Their greens and blues are inspired by the gorgeous surroundings of the San Juan Islands where their wedding and reception took place. We paired playful fonts with simple illustrations to invite their guests to a weekend of fun and love in a gorgeous destination. The travel theme was amped up in their day of design, carried out with Olivia at Cloud 9 Events, to celebrate all the place they’ve been and all the places they have waiting for them. Being a little travel obsessed ourselves here at mango, we’re always tickled by a couple who celebrates their love of getting out there to enjoy the world.

katie + nathan / medicine lake, mn

Vibe: soft, romantic, simple elegance

There is a kindness to Katie + Nathan that is so strong you can feel it through email. We wanted to capture that in their suite. We kept everything—from the font to the colors—soft and romantic. The simplicity helps keep things romantic, but in a modern way. This soft and pretty mood was carried through to their day of items. We are over the moon about their floral monogram that captures the simple elegance of their love. We loved working with Katie and wish them continued kindness and love in their life together.

“I loved your creativity, attention to detail, and responsiveness to my (many) questions and revisions. The quality of your work (both design and printing) is absolutely impeccable, and though I came in with some ideas, you took all of them and made them 1000% better! I loved working with you all and can't say enough good things :)

I think you're wonderful. I didn't expect stationery and signage to be one of my top favorite parts of wedding planning, but it absolutely was!!”

taylor + travis / rockford, wa

Vibe: romantic, floral, refined bohemian

The Greenhouse on Harvard is a stunning wedding venue just 30 minutes out of Spokane, and Taylor and Travis wanted to use it as a focal point of their wedding invitations. Illustrated in-house and letterpressed on handmade paper, this invite is complimented by a floral liner and gorgeous floral accented pieces. For their day of signage, we wanted the day to feel “so them.” Taylor is a book lover and Travis is an avid baseball card collector, and we knew we wanted to celebrate one of those things. We worked with Jessica and Red Letter Events to create a one of a kind bookshelf seating chart to wow their guests, and serve as excellent conversation starters.  Their celebration is a stunning, heartfelt mix of elegance and fun, making every moment feel intimate, lively, and unforgettable.

sarah + collin / rockford, wa

Vibe: classic, timeless, elegant + cool

We immediately fell for Sarah + Collin and their vision for a timeless celebration. Their bright and lively vibe brought a element of style to this wedding suite, and we were on board! Natural whites added a different twist on this classic color pallet, and we were thrilled to carry this timeless elegance through their greenhouse wedding day. We’re a but obsessed with the edges on the bar sign and the seating chart, but not as obsessed as we are with their bubbly love. Best of luck to these two joyful powerhouses of human beings!

marie + reilly / davenport hotel / spokane, washington

Vibe: easy elegance, romantic, graceful + luxe

One of our favorite things about Marie + Reilly is their joyful, warm and authentic ease. This was one of the largest suites and day of designs we’ve done, and they were a serious delight along every step of the journey. They ended up with an elegant suite and day of design was the perfect complement to their easy lover. It was important to them for their guests to be immersed in their wedding day and for everyone to feel spoiled and delighted to be there. From their letterpresses coasters with custom illustrations to double seating charts (so none of their 300 guests had to spend too long to look for their names), this wedding had a thoughtful treat around every corner. Something extra special is that the mother of the bride painted the watercolor drink illustrations and we worked with her designs to incorporate them in the signage. What a lovely idea!

“Heidi and the team were so amazing to work with! They knew exactly what I wanted after only sharing a few inspiration photos. They were communicative and turned around revisions quickly. I am beyond glad I chose to use them - thank you Team Mango Ink!!!”

Vibe: classic and timeless meets playful and fun

Sometimes the vibe of someone’s wedding matches their personality, and this could not be more true for Peggy + Mike. It was beyond a joy to work with Peggy and Simply Grand Events to make her larger than life day of signage dreams come true. Peggy is one of the most thoughtful brides and was constantly thinking about her guest’s enjoyment and comfort. Their wedding was as much about their love as it was their families joining together, and it resulted in a gorgeous, love-filled weekend.

“We are back from our honeymoon and finally coming up for air……we are finally able to take a breath and look around at all of the extraordinary work you did for our wedding, and we wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. we didn’t realize how amazing you all are until we got into the details…..how you all kept such cool heads when time got tight, when I changed stuff (and then changed it back) and you still delivered with the most amazingly wonderful weekend itineraries, posters, napkins, gift bag tags, ceremony programs (so beautiful)…..you’re our wedding heroes and we are so very, very, grateful!!  Thank you!! I was especially impressed with your cheery and positive email correspondence, even when I asked for little changes with zero time left, and expected your responses to be “ARE YOU EVEN KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW” but they weren’t, ha!  You kept your cool and we so appreciated that. Thank you for rising to the challenge and turning out *stunning* work.  We cannot recommend you more highly, and really hope we can all work together again soon.”

francesca + jeremy / seattle, wa

Vibe: modern, travel, airplane-obsessed, clean + cool

Oh how we love a good traveling couple, and Frankie + Jeremy are the poster couple for adventure. They decided to theme their whole wedding around all the amazing places they’ve been, and we could not have been more excited because co-founder/owner Ryan happens to be the biggest airplane enthusiast we know. And he also runs a company making cool stuff for other aviation enthusiasts (it’s called 08LEFT + it’s actually how Frankie + Jeremy found Mango Ink!). We loved working with Frankie + Jeremy on this to make a truly one of a kind custom suite. Then we dialed up the theme even further for day of, and a lot of their signage doubled as art for their home (see 08 left custom airport table signs!). We love how everything came together for the sweetest and most fun couple!

“We cannot thank you enough for making our aviation theme wedding dreams come true!!! It feels truly serendipitous that the ad I spotted on instagram in February 2023 led us to you all - that what started as a silly "what if we did an aviation theme" ended in the most unique invitation and day of suites we could have ever imagined. We appreciate y'all so much and we will treasure these bits of our wedding forever. Next step is hanging our amazing 08left signs on the wall!”

Make It Personal: Heidi’s Tips for Stunning Holiday CardS

as the holiday season approaches, it’s time to think about how to make your holiday cards truly special. here are some of my favorite tips for personalizing your cards to spread joy and connection this season.

as the holiday season approaches, it’s time to think about how to make your holiday cards truly special. here are some of my favorite tips for personalizing your cards to spread joy and connection this season.

12 Unique Tips for Holiday Cards

recreate an old family photo: we giggled about this one. back in 2007 we rushed to get a photo for our holiday card. (you can scroll down to see the original here). no one was dressed up, so we turned it to black and white.. well, i think sepia really lol, but anyway, we decided to recreate our family's favorite holiday card and send it out side by side last year. see how we did that here. you can use any old photo. have fun!

add a poem: we had ryan's cousin write us our poem last year, but you can ask chatgpt to help you or find a poet in your life. it's a fun way to let your friends and family know all that is happening in your life without being so serious.

family photo fun: gather the crew and snap a cozy family photo! whether you’re in your living room crammed on the couch or bundled up outside, capturing a moment together is such a sweet way to spread joy. take a selfie or use a timer on your phone to grab that candid photo. and guess what? it's okay if everyone is not looking at the camera. we even love that better sometimes.

make a collage: was this NOT the year for that family photo? let us make a collage of everyone beaming in their own way.

cut out: and if the backgrounds don't match, then we will cut those photos out and get them perfectly “together” on your card. this one is a best seller for that reason.

share a little story: include a favorite memory from the past year on your card. maybe it was that spontaneous road trip or the time you tried a new recipe that went hilariously wrong. these little snippets bring a smile and connect us all!

handwritten love: leave a little space to write a few personal notes on each card. it could be as simple as “thinking of you” or “can’t wait to catch up.” it’s those heartfelt touches that make a card feel extra special.

quirky facts: add a fun fact about your family from the past year! did someone learn a new skill or discover a hidden talent? it’s these little quirks that spark laughter and create connection.

kids’ creativity: let the little ones add their artistic touch! whether it’s a drawing or a little note, their creations will make the cards even more heartfelt and personal. we can even convert it digitally and they can be the card designer. pure joy.

tradition highlights: if your family has unique holiday traditions, mention them in your card. it’s a lovely way to share your joy and connect with others who might have similar customs.

be the most you: stand out and spark joy in your own way. we are all unique and your card should be a reflection of you. we are here to help!

be a beam of light: with all that is going on in the world, it's our chance to say something warm, loving, kind and contagious. spread love like a wildfire!

let’s make this holiday season memorable with cards that reflect your love and warmth. start creating your personalized holiday cards today with our tips. click here to get started! feeling overwhelmed? send us a message and we will guide you.
